Hi Everyone,

Very odd and frustrating query here for me.

I have an SBS 2003 Standard network looking like this:

SITE A
"SBS Server / DNS / Exchange"
"Additonal DC / Application Server"
"Terminal Server"
"File Server / DHCP Server"

SITE B
"DC / File Server / DNS / DHCP"

SITE C
No Server, thin clients connect to above terminal server.

I have a problem at the moment where my XPSP2 clients at SITE B intermittently do not have their group policy settings applied.

For example, I created a rule in the Windows Firewall (via GPO) for VNC, if I am troubleshooting an issue, it's useful.

However, I can be connected to the machine working away, reboot it, and on reboot none of the firewall settings are picked up and I can no longer connect. It's because GP settings are not being picked up but I don't know why!

The issue seems very intermittent, could it be that when the GP settings are replicating (1mb link) the clients are unable to read them?

Thanks.
Mike

Disable slow link detection in the GPO.

I hope you find this post helpful.
