i have lan wit 1 windows 2003 dc and 70 win xp clients.

is there anyway that i can change update registry on all these clients from gpo or anything similar. i have update.reg on shared folder on the server.

i tried to use logon script but when the domain users logs on they get access denied regarding this registry update.

what part of the registry are you trying to update? HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, HKEY_CURRENT_USER?

Are you trying to modify existing registry entries only or are you trying to create new registry keys etc.?

you need to provide more info

Im trying to update some proxy settings on HKEY_Local_Machine for the Nod32 antivirus.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eset\Nod\CurrentVersion\Modules\Update\Settings\Config000\Settings]
"UseProxy"=dword:00000001
"Proxy"="myserver_isa1"
"ProxyPort"=dword:00001f90
"ProxyUsername"="helpdesk016"
"ProxyPassword"=hex:0d,d6,bb,e9,be,f0,99,f2,3a,64,5d,ad,d6,c8,7d,75,99,31,59,\
bc,73,f8,eb,0c

Put all your Workstations into one OU. Create a VBScript to modify the registry settings, based on the samples found here...

Then create a GPO and apply it to your workstations OU, and apply your newly created VBScript as a computer startup within the GPO

Note*** to create a VBScript file, simply open notepad, put the text in, then save the file with a .vbs extension, as opposed to .txt
