Hi
We have a GPO to install some software but the GPO isn't working.
On the client Event Log entries are created (Source Application Management. IDs 105 and 108) which state
This implies an Access Denied error.
The path to the installer was created by browsing to it so a typo in the path isn't very likely.
The share and NTFS permissions are as open as I can get them (Everyone Full Control on the Share and 'Domain Computers' have Read & Execute, List Folder Contents and Read listed, which I've checked with the 'Effective Permissions' tab).
The problem appears to be specific to the sharing server as I've created an equivalent share on a domain controller with a new and equivalent GPO referring to it and that GPO works (using the same test PCs).
I've enabled Auditing on the shared folder (Audit Object Access) for access failures from the two test PCs but that's not reporting any failures.
Finally (I think!) the hosting server does not have Anti-Virus software on it which we can blame for blocking the access.
Help!
JJ
