Hello,

I thought I was off the the races. I installed a new Win2003R2 server, attached two brand new identical workstations, and guess what. The GPO is seen applied to one computer but not the other. Bother computers are in the same domain, they see each other. So I don't get it.

Any suggestions why the GPO is applied to one client but not another?

TIA,
Lou

What specific Group Policy is not being applied? Have you ran gpupdate /force from the command prompt on the computer that is not applying the Group Policy. Also, try running Resultant Set of Policy (Start >Run >type rsop.msc). It should give you some detail as to why the Group Policy did not apply.

Hi Joey,

What I see after running rsop is...

"RSoP data is invalid. Likely causes are, data is corrupt, data has been deleted or data has never been created."

In the details I see "Invalid namespace"

I'm not sure what to do with this information. Can you point me in the right direction?

TIA,
Lou

I have resolved the issue... the DNS server didn't have an A record for the server. I guess I must have added an entry in the hosts file for the first workstation and forgot to do the same for the second workstation.

Anyway, I added an A record and everything is good now.
