Good day all.

Quite some time ago (when we upgraded to a win2k domain) I came across a really informative document that explained the differences of the restrictions applied by a GPO. This document talked about the registry based and the temp (session) edits. It also talked about what sections of the GPO that would not be applied if the machine was not connected to the network at the time of boot.

I have been searching for this document for a while. I need to re-familiarize myself with the way GPOs act when a machine is connected at boot vs if the machine VPNs at login (connect to domain through VPN). I know the following sections of the GPO don't apply on refresh:

IE Maintenance Settings
Folder Redirection
Scripts
Disk Quota settings
Software Installation and Maintenance

I know I haven’t lost my mind. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
