ok...........here how it goes :).
We have a domain, with the users created and also the machines.users though, they dont log on to the domain.Instead they have the same user/pass as their domain account,on their pc(local account????).they told me that they did that for security reasons. So they log on to their pcs with a local account as their domain account. Also the machine is added in to the domain.Btw thay are not seperated in groups or OU.....a little bit mess...iknow.
My question is.Can i apply a group policy to my users though they dont log on to my domain?Or can i apply a machine policy?(never done that before).I just want to map their "backup" folder on a remote storage device.(WD World Book edition 2),....another mistake.I told them we should buy a small srv,but they thought that we can do it better this way.???????I know that i am going to have a quota issue here.
Anyway.....can i do it with some way???Scripts also???

Thanx in advance

As the computers are members of the domains, have you tried creating a group policy with loop back processing enabled ?

At first....thanx for the reply
Well to be honest i never tried that, same now.I've read somewhere that, if i want this to work both user/machine should belong to the domain. Here i have only the machines!!!!
If i try to create a script can i "attach" it somewhwere, so my machines will run that script????

To be honest, your set up seems a little unusual and my suggestion of loopback processing was a bit of a shot in the dark. I was not sure if the GPO would apply to local user accounts.
I don't have a WS2003 server to hand that does not belong to a domain but I would have thought that if you look at the properties of your local user accounts, you should see a Profile tab which would allow you to specify a logon script. I don't see a way around visiting each PC in turn though and updating the profile manually.
Another approach to try would be to create/edit a GPO attached to the container containing the computers and specify a script in Computer Configuration, Windows Settings, Scripts, Startup.
