I have applied some group policy settings to my user but nothing gets applied. I'm using Vista Business SP1.I have local and domain administrator rights.
Username belongs to an OU with GPO applied.
You should be doing all GP management FROM a Vista workstation with the Group Policy Management Console loaded on it. When you run GPMC on a Vista client, hundreds of Vista-specific settings will be added to the Policy Editor interface, and it may be that Vista won't apply certain policies unless they are applied from the updated .adm files that Vista uses when you create policies from a Vista management station.
Use GPResults on the client that you are trying to apply the policy to and see what's landing and what's not. Use the RSOP tool in the GPMC to test some of the same scenarios.
SBS - Windows Vista Policy appear under SBS GP Management.
When i configure the GPO link to the OU where my user is placed nothing gets applied to Vista OS.
I have run the GP results on SBS but is does not show the configured changes under User configuration.
I see this eror in policy event log somtimes: Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this.
If i run gpupdate the event log in Vista says: The Group Policy settings for the computer were processed successfully. But i dont see it making any of the required changes.
