GPL on one web server

Hi,

I have a question about the GPL which I'm not sure about. Basically I want to write a php web application that is based on code from a GPL application that's already out there.

I don't want to sell or give away my code, I just want to run one app on my own server and that's it.

I read the GPL but I still I need a bit of clarification. Do I need to release the source code ... even if I don't distribute the app ???
