A customer of mine has the pervasive version of Great Plains Accounting version 9.0 running on his NT4.0 network. The GPSUSERS.BAT batch file reports that he has 47 active users, even though no one is currently in the software and the network has been rebooted multiple times.
When he tries to get into GPA, an error message comes up informing him that too many users are already using the software. So he never gets to the main menu and therefore cannot go into the status screen to fix the user counts.
Anybody know how to reset the counts without the status screen?

I appreciate any assistance.

Thanks in advance,

Colt

If it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid

you'll need to run a ddf generator to generate the necessary index files for the btrieve or pervasive database. You can then link to it via access or something using ODBC and find ACTIVITY.. you'll find all the stranded users there.

I can't remember that far back, but I seem to recall if you just find the file ACTIVITY in the database and rename it, it may recreate itself free of users.
