GP 8.0 install problem - can't find company

Ok I've got a strange thing going on with GP 8.0. All data is saved on the server and we have several clients accessing it. On a few machines we do the install - the program sees the server and even accesses the data but doesn't show the company name in the drop down list. Also in the sales transactions window we don't have the option to select a back order type document.

Any ideas?

Version 8.0 when installed on Windows XP requires XP SP1 applied, otherwise the Company Name drop down list will be empty.

Are the machines on which you have installed Version 8.0 running XP without a service pack?
