GP 2013 Cash Receipts Entry - Transaction will not post

I read the referenced post about a user adding a period, and making this work. I have been stuck with this error for 2 days, and nothing has worked. Reboot server, sa login, check links, etc.... I have Googled everything imaginable - nothing but the ref post.

I keep getting this error:

Hello!

A note about that post - it wasn't the addition of the period that made it work. I'm pretty sure it was the delete and reenter of the data that worked (in that instance). The addition of the period was because the system already thought the check number existed and wouldn't let us use it otherwise.
