Government in the cloud

Anyone care to take a shot at how the Government would save big bucks by adopting cloud computing?
I would see it causing a lot of infrastructure upgrades, as someone who does a fair amount of Government design and consulting, many agencies are a bit behind the times.

Yeah, I didn't even address the "cost savings" issue. I'd like someone to pull that one off someday.

Hmm, I read another article about Los Angeles moving their e-mail to Google and having a clause where they get paid a stiff penalty if any of it gets hacked / exposed. If you're provider is always paying you when stuff is hacked, I suppose the balance sheet would show a "cost savings". LOL
