goto frame only 4 times

i'm using this in frame 3

if (_root.Counter == 1) {
gotoAndStop(4);
} else {
gotoAndPlay(2);
}

But i would only like the condition of the else statement to gotoAndPlay frame 2 only 4 times then just go to frame 4 but i still need the part of.. if (_root.Counter == 1) {
gotoAndStop(4);

figured out a different way to do this.
