Got SK99 to work AFTER I disabled Norton...

Glad to hear that you got it sorted out.
Am I correct in assuming that the post:
SK99 won't install on new AMD computer
thread807-1317362
is about the same issue and the problem program which caused it was Norton Antivirus and that once you disabled it you were able to install Sidekick?
I hope that re-enabling Norton did not have any ill effects subsequently.
Therefore I may assume that shooting yourself won't be necessary! ;-)
