Hi,

I'm using ie7 on windows xp. My ie is having a problem to search. When I use google to search, it gives the right searched website list. However, as I click a searched website, it jumps to some other searching engines such as "findstuff", "ebay" and shows their searched results. I have disabled the add-ons on the ie but the problem is still there. If I use firefox as browser, this problem doesn't exist. What's the problem and how to fix it?

Thanks a lot!!!

This sounds like a spyware infection. Download avg antispyware from the link below if you can.

Download hijackthis from the link below but do not try to run it till after all mentioned below.

(Make sure before you download it that you are still on the site for avg anti spyware). If you have to download the programs I have listed from another persons computer and burn them to cd or put them on a jump drive. Delete anything it finds.

Download ccleaner from the link below

Download this registry cleaner

Run all of these above in safe mode and disable system restore when done. Then enable back when in normal mode. (to get into safe mode, restart your computer, soon as you see the black screen immediately start pressing F8 till you are brought to a screen with options, choose load windows in safe mode)

Now once you are back into normal mode open up hijackthis. Choose do a system scan and save a logfile. Post the logfile on here and do not attempt to fix anything on that yourself unless you know what you are doing as not everything it shows is bad.
