google will not open

All of a sudden, I cannot get to google.com. The browser hangs and then reports that it can't find google.com. Also, it is unusually slow for me to navigate the Tek-tips pages as well.

Other sites load normally though. Any ideas???

I ran Spy-Bot and it detected something called Alexa. I cleaned it and now I can get to goole and I can browse Tek-tips at normal speed.

usually no single anti-adware/spyware program can detect every adware/spyware you have. i suggest running lavasoft's ad-aware and protect yourself from future infection with spyware blaster (both are free).
