Dear All

I used MS publisher 2007 to design my web site and used Ipswitch WS_FTP to upload it to the internet. However, when I do a google search and I type all the key words that I inserted into publisher, google does not find my web site.

I am now wondering whether I am inputting the keywords correctly in publisher or not. To input the key words, I click on “tools” and then “web page options”. Is this the correct way to do it or is there any other route in publisher that i should follow?

Also, when inputting the key words, what separator should i use between the different key words. I used a space, is this correct?

I will be grateful for any other advice on this problem please.

Many thanks

It's going to take time for your site to show up. Be patient.

Thank you JP

I actually uploaded my web site at the end of may, so it has been two months. How long do you think it will take?

I also used the following link ( ) to log my website with google, but still no joy.

This is why I started to think that I may need to do something different in publisher. Any advice on this please? am I doing all the correct steps in publisher?

thanks

The keyword tag does almost nothing these days. Google reads the text on the page in order to index the page/site.

There is an entire field devoted to optimizing for search engines, but here is a good start: place each keyphrase many times on the page, best to put it once in a heading, once bold, once italics.

The title tag is also important. Put a keyphrase in the title of the page.

Incidentally, most people use a comma between keywords. Remember you can often View > Source to see other people's code.
