Goodday Everyone,

I' m looking for some advice on upgrading from 2.6 to Solaris8. No problems until we attempted upgrading one half of a H-A 2.2 Asymmetrical system running Disk Suite 4.2.0. It failed so we Initialized and built from scratch with HA 2.2 and Disksuite 4.2.1 , but failed again on startnode: -

# scadmin startnode
Assuming a default cluster name of refmark
Oct 17 10:47:13 phys-refmark1 ID[SUNWcluster.sma.smactl.4001]: SMAK device cannot be opened
Oct 17 10:47:13 phys-refmark1 ID[SUNWcluster.reconf.4051]: sma exited with 255 in startnode
ster.reconf.4051]: sma exited with 255 in startnode
scadmin: errors encountered.

Can't find the error message and have built loads of HA systems in the past without problems.

Please Note the other half of the system is running OK on 2.6.

Solaris 8 Upgrade Fails when HA 2.2 (Sun Cluster) loaded
Out of date software for Sun Cluster needed 2.2 (7/00), covered 2. 6 - 2.7 but not 2.8. also require DiskSuite 4.2.1 not 4.2.0. Finally we have to remove mirror devices before upgrade.
