Can anyone recommend a good server monitoring software package? I want something that will alert me when certain thresholds are reached (like disk free space, memory leaks, etc). I have read about GFI, & PMP.

I have a Dell shop, so I could use Server Administrator, but I am concerned about the SNMP security issues.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

You may want to look at SysTrack 3.1 from Lakeside Software ( SysTrack can help proactively manage system conditions such as high CPU utilization, memory leaks, free disk space, etc., and the associated services.

Check it out when you get a chance; I think you will be impressed.

Good luck!

Personally I'd go for MOM2005 - it even has a Dell management plug-in so all your Server Administrator alerts go to MOM (rather than have to use IT Assistant and SNMP - which is a pig to get working IME). The Workgroup Edition of MOM2005 can monitor up to 10 servers and is pretty cheap, it has less reporting options than the full product though.
A similar product is NetIQ's AppManager which also has a Dell managmeent pack - I'm still in the process of evaluating both but I'm leaning towards MOM as it will have much more R&D behind it and likely better 3rd party vendor support.
