I am thinking about attaching a printer to an R6.0 ACS to capture SMDR logs.

Avaya's documentation states that the printer needs to be configured as 1200,N,8,2.

I have access to an Okidata 320 dot matrix printer, but I don't see where it can be set for 2 stop bits.

Can the 320, equipped with a serial module, work as a SMDR printer and if not, what printers can interface directly to the SMDR port on the R6.0? I'd like to use a printer that can accommodate computer paper with tractor feeds. [ponder]

I know I will need to get the adapter to convert from a DB-25 to an RJ-45 before any of this will work.

Thanks for any suggestions [smile]

The 320 is the printer I have always used for SMDR. Although I usually talk customers into using a computer and use Hyper terminal or similiar in order to keep from wasting so much paper.

Thanks for the advice Ohio Telecom!

I was wondering if Hyperterm would work with SMDR. The system is installed in a church, so the number of calls isn't very high....(There are only 2 telephone lines installed).

Once the church office gets a new computer, I'll take the old one and give Hyperterm a try.

Thanks Again! [smile]
