Good morning,
I heard that MS is shutting down Silverlight. Is it ok to remove/uninstall it , since this is a pretty large app ??

Depends on what you do with your PC. I've survived without it so far but then again, I don't do web based development and I am not interested in the experience and flashy graphics. I just like things to be reasonably fast without having to fork out for a fast machine. If you are as boring as I am, then you can probably uninstall it.

know what you mean..I wish we would have less of those app's ..slows down everything..however I guess if you have webbased livestream (Comcast) probably you still need it ..

Large? It shows as being 50Mb on my windows 7 machine. And you only need it if you use a site that requires it. If you uninstall Silverlight and find a site doesn't work, you can just reinstall it.

I use it because some of the TV sites I want to view missed episodes on,use it. It isn't very big unless you have the SDK installed. It's Microsoft's first try as a flash alternative, but with HTML5 replacing both, it won't be needed in the future.
