Good learning references...

Can anyone point me in the direction of some good learning references for AIX Unix. I just started a new job that runs this, and I need to get up to speed. I have some Linux experience, and I have FreeBSD that I can install, if it is similar....

For starters go to this thread and look at the links there: thread52-546617

I would also recommend going to and search on certification AND AIX and look at the certification guides for the areas you need help in (the sys admin certification guides are very comprehensive).

And of course O'Reilly's Essential System Administration is helpful. And this link gives you commands for the various flavors of Unix.

Check out this forum regularly to learn. The search engine for Keywords is fairly good if you have a particular question, and the FAQ section has a lot of good tips, too.
