Got a hole slew of Windows 2003 boxes that I'd like to find a network monitor for that will notify me via email when one of the boxes drops offline.
I've used google to try and find a good, FREE network monitor that'll do this. But it's an endless loop of different flavor apps that I'm really not impressed by. I know, I'm looking for something free and should be so picky, but there's gotta be some opensource stuff out there that does this with very little overhead. I don't need something that's full blown that'll draw maps for me and tell if there's a scratch on the back of it. Just something to ping and alert.
Any of you admins have some advice for me on what to check out? Remember, FREE!
Thanks!
