I was just wondering, are macs good for computer science? I've always thought of PCs as the definitive development computers and Macs as the definitive multimedia computers. So I was wondering, are Macs (OS X) good for development and computer science?

Since OSX is based on BSD (unix), you are open to a hoot of a lot of computer science.

Most all programming languages are supported on Mac. Microsoft's .Net and VisualBasic seem to be the only ones that you will miss on Mac.

Some sort of computer science had to be performed on Macs to produce those whiz-bang multimedia applications.

Why is everyone in this forum responding to me as picklefish?

Maybe if you post what exactly you would need the mac to do, someone who knows the specific programs/functions, etc could help you with knowing what will work and what would be better on a Mac or a PC.
