Good DTD resource

I'm beginning a large project that will require the sharing of news XML documents. A lot of independent bodies will be involved, so I'm looking for a generic widely used dtd for news stories.

I don't want to use xslt to convert between document types.

Does anybosy know of any online dtd resources?

You might also want to look for XSD files relating to news stories, as they allow you tighter control over the contents of the XML files people give you. For example, a DTD cannot control the length of a string element, whereas a XSD can specifiy a minimum length, a maximum length, and whether or not to preserve any whitespace.
