We've got a laptop that connect to a Nokia 6130i over Bluetooth to an O2 GPRS dialup
the connection is dialed, and authenticates. the laptop is dished an IP and DNS e.t.c.
but if you try any sites they all time out in the Browser.
yet using standard diagnostics such as Ping, Nslookup and Tracert
pinging 193.113.200.200 (an O2 DNS server) gets a response
Nslookup to an O2 DNS server resolves the IP of any URL you give it.
yet a tracert gets as far as
1 1191 ms 925 ms 698 ms 193.113.239.245
2 637 ms 633 ms 643 ms 193.113.239.179
3 583 ms 676 ms 669 ms 193.113.238.173
4 963 ms 1013 ms 661 ms 193.113.238.18
5 968 ms 1005 ms 651 ms 193.113.239.254
6 587 ms 656 ms 642 ms 10.144.0.135
7 * * * Request timed out.
8 * * * Request timed out.
9 * * * Request timed out.
Now i know this could be ICMP dropping, but wondered if theres an issue here.
but wondered about a config issue on the laptop, despite the fact to all it looks ok, what with the authentication and good connection e.t.c.
however, checking Ipconfg /all reveals that it has a default gateway identical to its assigned IP address. Is this normal for GPRS? (forgive my ignorance with this) even though you can contact other O2 devices
it is using the standard O2 GPRS settings as provided on their site
Cheers
