Here's a general question.
Who do most of you deal with for netwok switches, patch panels, etc. I'm looking to get some HP switches, Leviton patch bays, CAT6 and CAT5 cables. Im not happy with the prices from our normal vendor and so I'm looking for a new vendor. Can a few of you guys make recommendations?

Thanks

As far as patch panels and the like go, I have had good experience with Rexel. They have very competitive prices, they are convenient, and the salesperson I work with is great. I dont really have much experience as far as purchasing switches, but I bought a Dell switch from eBay and it works perfectly.

We deal with a company that usually comes in lower than Graybar or Anixter. Accu-tech. Their number is 1-800-432-0325. Enter extension 111. This is the person that I have dealt with for a few years now and he is committed to good customer service. They have won our nation wide bid on patch panels and cable for the last 3 years in a row.

Thanks for the advice guys. More options is always good to have.

IC Intracom for patch panels, I've only been using them about a year now but after 100 panels no problems so far. Their 48 port cat5e is under $100.00.

Thanks for the info.
Does anyone have a recommendation on 7' racks for use with phone/data. Our vendor phone the phone system is recommending a Chatsworth QuadraRack 4 post frame #50120-703. I'm completely new to this, so I'm not sure if this is a good rack for phone and data or if I should look at other brands.

What do you use?

A 4 post rack is not neccessary. The Chatsworth Universal 19" Rack is a good start. But you can get similar from many companies. Panduit, Homaco, B-Line, etc. Make sure though that its 19" with TIA/EIA mounting hole spacing. Also, the Chatsworth has rack unit (RU) spacing marked and numbered on the rails (a standard 48pt patch panel is 2RU). Very hand for mounting properly, and would suggest going with that type of rack.
