Hi All,

We have an old Goldstar GSX408/816 system installed and I need to modify the system setup.
At present the operators phone will divert to all phones by pressing the divert button. If left off only the office phones ring. I want to switch the divert off altogether or maybe have it so when pressed it diverts to offices only.
I need to do this because if we have a power cut the phone reverts to the basic setup of ringing in the offices only. If on the evening or weekends this isn't noticed then the calls are not being answered.

Thanks in advance
Ade

Hi Ade,
The main phone is a 21 or 33 button? It’ll say on the under side. It should be station 100 and have display. I think the divert key puts it into day / night service. Divert key off is Day = office phones ring. Divert key on is Night = operator phone rings. Have I understood correctly?
Which phones do you want to ring when the divert button is off? Operator phone and the office phones? This system is a little hazy as it’s really old but I used install a lot and could help you next week when I get to my manual.
How many outside lines do you have?
What are the extension/station numbers you want to ring?
These things are a bit odd to programme. On the main phone with the handset down dial *7764 and see what happens. To return the phone to normal working status lift handset and replace. *7764 accesses admin programming, make sure you actually dial the star. Try it on any phone in fact. If you can get into admin then there’s hope.
Also is the time and date correct or nearly correct on the phone display? After a power cut does it revert back to a date in the 1990s? If it does the battery might be shot and this will all be a waste of time, as the battery supports all the custom programming and the system will essentially default with every power cut.

Regards
Mark
