Goldmine hangs

I have taken over a network that is currently running Goldmine 6.5.

One of the Goldmine applications on a remote users laptop hangs 30 seconds after logging in. I get a few error messages in the app event log of the laptop

Event ID 1002
Hanging Application gmw6.exe, verison 6.50.40704.0, hang module hangapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000

also get

Event ID 1001
Fault bucket 126355263

any ideas?

Go to File|Configure|Synchronization Settings and uncheck the box on the Instant Sync tab. The machine is scanning the network for GoldSync servers it might like to sync with. If you let it go for a bit (how long 'a bit' is depends on your network architecture) it will come back to life eventually.. Though it'll scan again a bit later.. Turn the feature off if the remote is on a VPN or some sort of extensive network with machines high-latency 'distances' away...

Heck, turn the feature off regardless.. I've found it to be more trouble than it's worth, honestly...
