Hi all

what is the best edition to use for a single user (small business)? It appears that all new versions are strictly for a larger corporate multiuser environments.

I have used GM since 4.0 then took a bit of a break at 5.7.

Now I have renewed interest and would like to get a new license and import some of the older records for reference.

Is that possible since it appears time has not stood still in technology and GM has moved away form older version of data bases.

Thanks for your feedback.

Aloha!

You can purchase a single user of GoldMine Premium v9.0.1.49, albeit expensive for a single user, it is do-able.

The mean cost for a single user of GoldMine Premium 9.0.1.49 from each GoldMine Partner varies, but should be somewhere between $1,400.00 and $1,600.00 US.

I understand that Act! 2011 has made vast improvements, and there is always Outlook 2010 with Business Contact Manager which Microsoft is constantly improving on. These two may better fit into your budget.

My recommendation is, however, that you try to stick with that which you know.

thanks for your quick reply DJ.

holy macro $1400?!
that is above and beyond reasonable price for a single user.

is there a market for used GM software? if anyone has other earlier versions than v9 they want to transfer/sell we can probably work something out. is license transfer allowed by FR?

my needs are (mostly) met with 5.7 although I would like to move up a notch or two. I don't mind second hand licenses :)

perhaps if a good deal comes along ...

right dj, rarely do we "own" software.

i was referring to the license.
some companies allow for a transfer of licenses and most do not. so i am not sure if gm allows, hence the question.

judging by your reply, it appears this second hand option is not really available or allowed by GM?

am i interpreting this correctly?

thanks for your feedback

i guess i better not buy that second hand disk off of ebay

thanks for your input

No, go ahead. When you find out that it is pirated software then you'll wish you hadn't.

One guy on eBay has sold over 50 pirated licenses. The same one to everyone. I think eBay finally caught him/her.

Hello

I'm new to this forum and forums in general.

In this thread, I believe the instructor mentions Outlook with BCM as an option for a single user of Goldmine. I am attempting to make the switch from GM v6.0 and its link to MS Word over to MS Office with Outlook BCM. My main problem is trying to get Outlook to do the tasks I'm accustomed to in GM - mainly time-stamping notes and linking to template doc's in Word.

Any advise would be appreciated.
