What is the best way to deploy Goldmine throughout an organization with one centralized server and 2 remote locations (maybe 15 concurrent users in total)? Performance on the local is fine. We are finding that Goldmine is extremely slow across the WAN. We have a wireless 16 MBs connection with our building next door but performance is unbearable.

Thank you

There are a number of different options:

1. Use iGoldMine, good solution however requres GoldMine Corporate Edition.

2. Install GoldMine locally on workstations and connect to database over the network. Can become an administrative nightmare.

3. Install a second server in the remote building, and sync the two server.

4. Use Terminal Services/Citrix.

Hi,

Dont use iGoldMine, when Microsoft produces a patch it nearly always breaks iGoldMine and FRS take a long time to release updates.

Microsoft Terminal Server is a very good route, particularly with 2003.

You would try placing the BDE and all EXE/DLL on the workstation but you'll still find it slow in areas.

Use a product designed for WAN use like Sage/ACCPAC CRM..:p
