Hi gurus

We are thinking of using GM some time in the future but I need a bit of background -

I have been told it uses SQL server as a back-end - is this true ? and can it integrate with any other databases (via ODBC etc)

Does it run as a client/server system - or is it possible to run a client linked to say a mysql db ?

Thanks in advance from a complete GM noobie ;-)

It uses Borland to get to SQL (or its dBase version - it has both). You can integration, but you have to use its methods to do so. It depends on unique RecIDs generated in its method and data being stored to it in a unique way

"Does it run as a client/server system - or is it possible to run a client linked to say a mysql db"

Client/server - it doesn't work with MySQL
