Hi , we are using goldmine 6.5 - using a filter I have allocated about 200 records to a user . Using the delete all activities function and then high lighted calls - goldmine will only delete 500 records at a time . Is there any where I can set this as I have to keep rerunning to delete all

cheers

Kevin

unsure if this will or not, but go to the history tab, then right click, then go to options, you have an option for max records.

Again i'm unsure if changing this will help, but worth a try, i do not have enough data to test it.

Nope, no way to set it. It's a hard-coded limitation in the activity list on SQL databases. It's not a limitation in dBase.

Pending activities are kept in CAL.DBF. If this installation is solely for the use of this user and you don't plan to synchronize the data with anyone else, you might consider just replacing the user's CAL.BDF (and .DBT and .MDX) with blank ones from a fresh install... If the user syncs this GoldMine, however, this isn't an option at all...

Hi , i tried the one history page tab - options - max records 500 . But that did not work . There does seem to be a max number of delete records to 500 some where

We do sync goldmine , so that also stops us using the copy cal.dbf file option .

If all the call details are keep in the cal.dbf I could in sql delete them from that side -

another issue I have , is I want to delete a selection of the calls dependant on post code - I cant find a way to delete calls by postcode (a set field) in goldmine - the only way again I could think of doing it is again in sql .

does any one have another idea ?

thanks

Kevin

Since you sync GM, you might consider using one of the dBase remotes to go to the activity list and tweak the viewed activities' date range and user to get to the list of activities you'd like to delete and carry out the operation there. It will then sync back to the server and out to any appropriate remotes.

As for deleting calls by post code, yeah, you're kind of out of luck there. You might want to look into GoldBox at
It is a database toolbox of sorts for GoldMine. It allows you to make changes of this nature whether you're on dBase or SQL and it's changes are sync friendly. Well worth the investment.
