Goldmine 6.5 and Word2003

I have added a new template (created with Word2003) and when I try to merge it in Goldmine 6.50.40321 I get an error:

"Cannot find registration entry for: Word.Document.8\shell\open"

Has anyone any else encountered this? Does anyone have a solution?
