Hi all,

Our company is using Goldmine 5.5 and we have split our database in two (telesales / normal sales). We use nearly all the same records except the contact name would vary. However certain activities that are being scheduled and completed in the seperate databases are not being shared all of the time. Is there something wrong, or is there a way we can ensure that the calendar activity is shared. I really would appreciate anyone's help on this!

Hello

The Calendar file can be shared between multiple contact sets, but only the calendar records that are scheduled for the active contact set can be accessed. So, you can see all of the scheduled activities for a user, but can only access the contacts for the contact set that you are in. I hope I'm not making it sound more confusing. Nothing is wrong though, it is just the way Goldmine handles this.

You could either....

Combine both contact sets to one.

Introduce your users to File | Open. (even include a macro to do this)

If the records only differ by contact name, are you able to add names to the Contacts tab?

Good Luck
Dave
