Goldmine 5.5 Data base maintenance

When our system tries to do this (on automatic every few nights), it tells me waiting for one user to log out but no one is in the system. When I do it manually it tells me can not open look up table (etc).
Suggestions as to what I should check?

you first of all what to check that everyone is out.

If you go to the File -> configure -> user settings it may tell you that someone is in that you did not know.

If so log is as them then log out and that should solve it.

Do you run any 3rd party applications to query against goldmine such as crystal, access etc, if these are still open then in cause a link, and you are unable to re-build goldmine.

Thanks, yes I checked to make sure all are out. We do run faxrush as a user but that closes as well prior to the rebuild. I am away but when I return I will reboot the system in case something is hanging.
