Goldmine 4.0 Sync Issue 1

Hi!

We recently added a new undocked user. However, we are having trouble getting our customized settings to register with his machine, which is XP format. I have set the computer to connect to our sync server, and it does not give me the option to pull our customized settings. Is there a particular file I need to copy over from the server version to his machine in order to get it to work correctly? If so, what is the specific file name, and which directory should it be located in? Thanks for helping!

You must sync over just the customizations first using a cut-off date Server-side of 1/1/1980. After they have sync those over successfully, you can the set the Server-side cut-off date back to 1/1/1980, and do a full sync.

I remember doing this step and there was some confusing.

There was not a box for custom settings or custom views. After doing clear all,only the check is removed from in front of "deletions" and several of the boxes under database files stay checked. There is no custom field or custom views box to check. Is this correct?

Not checked under "Database files" is the option for "User Defined Fields." Would this be where our custom settings are?

You would check Custom Fields, and Custom Screens.
