and need help convicing them of a badly needed upgrade on our PBX 81, 61 and 11 running on 25.40, with t1's tied between them. I've got cost savings as one of the bullets, and an SRS agreement for yearly upgrades if needed.. anyone else provide any bullets?

The biggest selling point is IP ready.
 
The best reason for your upgrade is to explain what "badly needed upgrade" means. They will ask "what would happen if you did not upgrade" - and you should have a good list of responses,

If you need a feature or capability that, if you do not get, will ultimately cost the company more than the cost of the upgrade, then it'll fly

Another is capacity - if you need the capacity, then you are proposing hardware and that you can justify must include the software upgrade

You may want to check with your vendor on the equipment and see if there are any "end of life" items in your existing configuration. I know 25.40 is slated to EOL pretty shortly, if it hasn't already, are you running Meridian Mail or Call Pilot? Those types of things.
 
another point i make is the year this server has been upgraded as opposed to even simple pc's.. seems like the upper tear will spend millions on new network equiptment but balk at something as important as voice communications. maybe turn the switch off until they give in... you can talk about us, but you can't talk without us..

back on topic, what does it cost per minute to lock the front door? due to most safety concerns, (no fire dept, no 911), very few places can stay open with nothing but cell phones working.. if you can't sell features, sell dependability.. call pilot, voip, desktop msg'ing etc can save time and money
