Going to Single 4.11 server, NEED HELP

I am going from 2 Novell servers to 1 Novell server. I need help, how do I go about this and keep the NDS structure intact and enable users to log on to that server? I believe the primary server is the one I need to take off the network.

Assuming that the primary server holds the Master of the Root partition... First you would want to promote the backup servers root partition to Master. Once the backup server has the master of the root partition, you should now be able to remove the primary server from NDS. The NDS should stay healthy during this process.
