I currently have Ms Small Business Server (NT4.5), 3 shared local printers, 1 network printer, and 10 workstations using Win98 or WinME, and a DSL line.
CONSIDERING CHANGING to a peer-to-peer network using a cisco router and Win98 workstations and a dedicated server/pc also using Win98
I have noted a new push towards peer-to-peer networks but
do not have any details.
Has anyone out there had any experience with such a change over? Known anyone doing the changeover ?
For instance is XPProfessional required to share the DSL line? What problems with thefax server, incomming and outgoing, how is internet e-mail handled ? How is inter-office email handled ? Is a VPN still possible?
Other areas of concern - remote access, security, firewalls, application distributing and updating and finally
GENERAL STABILITY OF THE ENTIRE SYSTEM

MY EXTREME THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED

The Dekeman
