This is probably a "no brainer" but its the end of the day and I'm tired and I'm sure you wonderful programmers do this stuff in your sleep (what I should be doing now....)

I want the field pointer (cursor) to jump to the next tabbed field after a set number of characters are entered into the current field. I set the max number of characters to "8" but all that does is generate an error msg if I exceed 8 characters - it does not jump to the next field. I know this has got to be elementary but at this time of day my brain is back in kindergarten....

As always, thanks for your help.

Only thing I know is that you can go to the next field in the tab order with Tab (-FM7) or Enter (+7).

To do what you want - need a whole construction (not wortwhile - looping script etc) or maybe a plug in.....
