Hi,
I need to incrementally upgrade my NT 4.0 network. First I will replace my very old PDC(and file server)with a new server. I thought i could remove the old PDC from the network, promote a 4.0 BDC, upgrade the newly promoted PDC to windows 2000 as a DC, then be officially in mixed mode. Afterwards i can join my new 2000 DC, and possibly promote another one of my 2000 servers.
My big concern at the moment is the Exchange server. It is on an NT 4.0 BDC. I will not have enough time and/or resources to upgrade this server for another 2 or 3 months. Can it function properly in a mixed mode 2000 domain? Can someone point me towards white papers tailored for this scenario?
Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.
