going back to previous page

how can a user when they press a button go back to the previous page, and dont know the url?

The only problem that I've noticed with this is that if you have two pages, Page A and Page B, and you continually go back and forth between A and B a huge number of time before moving on to a Page C and then want to return to a page PRIOR to page A, you're going to have to click a lot more than a couple times to go there.
