We have a new opportunity approaching and, if I read Avaya right, the 5610 phones will be going away in the not too distant future. It's not that I've heard anything, but they're in the mood to consolidate products. We really haven't used the 1600 series yet. Should we leap to the 'new' phones or enjoy the auto labeling for a while more?
Mike

I would stick with the 5600's. There are so many out there, they can't just stop supporting them. Plus I think they look and feel so much better.

Why not go for the 9620l or any other 9620 or maybe the 9630 ?

^totaly agree!
If it has the same display as the 1408/16 then it looks way better.

You will find the 96xx's are a little more fumbly to operate due to the stupid 4 way navigation button thing, I and our customers find the 56xx's screens much quicker to navigate and select what you need, it's a real shame they will be going :)

Andy, you are getting old and less understanding like every grand dad :)

I really like the menu structure but i must say i was used to it when i worked with the Tenovis T3 phones a couple of years back.

Also, if you want the customer to decide let them hear/try the speakerphones as they are not so good on the 16xx's :)

You can try for yourself you impatient bugger, anyway our kit always arrives pre 10, who are they coming off, SS? :)

I think it is pretty good.
But the 1400's are T3 hardware.
When they startup they are in German and have T010.123 or something like that which is T3 firmware.

I had forgotten about the 16XX I series due out. Probably can't wait, so I'll go with 56XX (which I like better anyway - I haven't typed a desi label in years). Customer liked the looks of 16XX. It just seems that several new features are 16XX only. Thanks for the thoughts.
Mike

Good choice, a couple of people on here had to rip out 16XX's and replace with 56xx's to avoid losing the customer :)

Is it everything you hoped it would be and more? :)

it is a bit HSM, but i've mostly held back on dishing out the 16 series to clients because of the speakerphone issues. Lots of people see them in our dem suite and ask about them and once i show them they decide on 54/56 handsets. It will be nice to be able to offer a decent alternative.

that and im a sucker for new kit, still waiting to get my hands on a v2, even though the changes are minor and they look the same from the front.

i should probably get a life.

Get well soon Aaron.
