go to the previous page and see the old values

Hi frineds,

I have a jsp page contains a llist of values. if i select a perticular record from the list it goes to another page and disoplay the details of that record.from this detail page i have a button "back", if i click this button it should goto the previous page and display the all the old records. i tried with java script it is going to the previous page but not displaying the list of records, can any one suggest a solution
