Go To Link and other Hypertext Markers Not Working

This message may seem similar to another, but the response to that one referring to the hypertext markers only referred to INTERNAL LINKS within the FM doc. I need to know: how does one make an EXTERNAL URL link work in FM, e.g., a marker for

http://www.google.com?

(or can one make it work?)

I have tried Go To URL and Message Client and other types of tags, but nothing has worked so far when I print to PDF. Please help. Thanks.
