I'm trying to add workspaces on my GNOME desktop. But when I click Workspaces under Sawfish window manager or anything under that for that matter, it says "(Sawfish isn't running)". This is under a normal user. It works under root but I don't want to log in as root.

It worked on my previous installation but it doesn't now. My platform is RedHat 7.1

TIA! Louie C.

run switchdesk & from a command prompt to make sure you're running the right wm.

Hi,

Switchdesk only switches between Gnome & KDE etc. As Gnome is not actually a window manager in its own right (just a 'desktop') I don't think that will work. However, you should be able to configure sawfish thru the gnome control-panel : menu system, settings (tool-box icon) then desktop and window manager under desktop. (

Hope this helps

That's the thing, ifincham. I did all what u indicate but that's what it says. The weird thing is it's only in one profile. Sawfish runs on other users' profiles.

I also tried deleting my profile and creating another with the same username and the problem is still there...

Where else could the problem be? Louie C.
