GNOME Main Menu Question...

I have a couple of applications like jedit for example, that I would like to make a part of the GNOME "Main Men" system. How can I do that? I can add the application to the desktop...I can add it the the panel...I can add it to a drawer...but I cannot seem to see how to add it to the Menu system.
