Hi everyone,

I was wondering ...
Is there anything like Autostart for Gnome Desktop Environment ?

And if so is there also a way to somehow make the system "remember" the window's last position on the screen so that after reboot and login I'm automatically getting certain scripts started and placed at the same location automatically ?

Regards
Thomas

And to start scripts in a specific location on screen with specific dimensions, most X applications such as xterm and gnome-terminal support the -geometry option. See man X for the syntax.

And they usually also support a -c option or similar which allows you to run a specific command in that terminal.

Thanks a lot to both of you.
That was exactly what I needed !
