Can GNav 6.0.11 be virtualized?

I have NO idea if this works.

I believe it was 8.X that began using LMC instead of a dongle so it is probably worth a try.

Global Navigator does not recognize the dongle because the physical box it is plugged into has a different IP address than in a non-virtual machine environment. To get Navigator to run on a virtual machine server and recognize the dongle, an entry must be added to the server's /etc/hosts file to point to the dongle's true location.

Perform the following steps from a terminal prompt:

Edit the file "/etc/hosts" and add the IP address to following file:

<ip address> gnavkey
Change to the following directory and delete the .LOCAL_KEY file:

* cd /u/acdmis/run
* rm .LOCAL_KEY
Reboot the server
